Individual DBT Skills Sessions
Why Individual DBT Sessions?
One on one DBT skills sessions offer a structured and supportive space to learn DBT tools and practice using them in situations that matter to you, like navigating conflict with a partner, managing family dynamics, coping with work burnout, or responding differently when emotions spike.
These sessions are typically for people who are already in therapy and want adjunctive skills training, for parents who have teens in a DBT program, or for loved ones of those in DBT programs or otherwise struggling with emotion dysregulation.
What Will I Learn?
We will cover the core DBT skills modules covered in DBT skills groups: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness (see here for more info on the modules).
While all the skills build upon each other and it is generally recommended to complete the full curriculum, on one sessions give us an opportunity to collaboratively align on the curriculum that address your highest priority concerns as effectively and efficiently as possible. Over time, clients often notice fewer explosive conflicts, more confidence setting limits, and a steadier sense of how to handle difficult moments.
