How do I get started?
If you're interested in us working together, the first step is to set up a free 20 minute intro; reach out via the contact form or via email (sofiagomezlmft@gmail.com)
We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, services I provide, my clinical approach, and any other questions you might have. If it seems like we may be a good fit, we will discuss availability and schedule our first session.

How long are therapy sessions?
A typical session is 45 minutes, though I also offer 60 or 90 minute sessions.
In our initial call, we will discuss the appropriate length based on your treatment goals, and will reassess throughout the course of therapy.

How frequently will we meet?
Most clients find that weekly sessions provide the right level of support. We will discuss this at the beginning of treatment and adjust, as needed to best support your goals.
For those in comprehensive DBT, individual and group sessions meet weekly. People typically participate in the program 6-18 months.

Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network (OON) provider. This means I provide a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt of sessions you’ve attended) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits.

What is comprehensive DBT vs DBT-Informed therapy?
Comprehensive DBT includes weekly individual therapy, weekly DBT skills group, and between session phone coaching. Programs are typically 6-18 months long.
Some people may benefit from components of DBT without completing the full program. I offer DBT-informed individual therapy, 1:1 DBT Skills Lessons, DBT Parent Skills Sessions, and DBT skills groups.
Please reach out to discuss which DBT services best fit your needs.
